I'm not knocking America's many competent micro-breweries, I was simply acknowledging the fact that traditional American beers -- Budweiser, Miller, etc. -- don't have the character, flavor or "body" that European beers have. And as I said before, I actually prefer the traditional American style beers. A nice cold Bud goes down pretty good after mowing the lawn -- in a way that a cherry, apple cinnamon cider beer from the local micro brewery or that sludge that some Europeans call beer ever could. I know that's heresy but what can I say, I was raised on Stag. I'm a working class American kind of guy.
