Erwins incident brings up something that the Luggers that live in societys with socialized medicine should remeber. When you travel abroad, be sure to get medical coverage from an insurance company. If Erwin wasn't insured his little stay coud probably have cost him more than a whole set of Leica Modular Lenses. His insurance company may be getting him home because it is cheaper to treat him there than in the USA. I have heard cases where the Insurance company will charter a plane and get people back to Canada to be treated rather than pay for an extended stay in a US hospital. There is a female Doctor I know who was on a flight to Boston and went into the beginnings of premature labor. Her Doctor suggested she get back on a plane to Halifax, rather than have a premature baby in the USA and have possible uninsured expences. She got back on the hour long return flight and had her baby later that day in Halifax. In her case she was flying too close to her due date and the supplentary insurance would probably not cover a stay in a US Hospital because of this.
