Subject: [Leica] B/W Enlarger Question

I am in the process of setting up a B/W darkroom after many years of using
commercial labs. A Leica Guru once wrote that to get the best out of your
Leica use a Leica Focomat enlarger- I have just spotted one in a local photo
shop which looks in good shape. The model is Focomat 1c and includes a lens
(f4.5 I think as I haven't been in and looked in detail) and is priced at
£249.00.
I wish to make enlargements up 16" by 12", 35mm only. Is the above a
sensible way forward, or would it be better to buy a new, modern,
enlarger?(all else being equal, of course)
Many thanks in anticipation of your advice.

Jonathan.
