The question of 12x16 enlargements is pertinent as the auto focusing only extends to a 10x enlargement, c. 10x15" enlargements. Largere pictures can be printed with manual focus. Alternatively, the V35 enlarger gives auto-focus to 16x and is seen cheaper and cheaper, rarely at 250 pounds though. If you check out 'Loot' on the web, there is one for sale a hundred pounds cheaper. this could be an option, but the Leica lens may well be worth the extra... best regards, Jem </scripts/lootsite.dll?Search&Query=leica&Clip=248795801&Session=1365984 128> </scripts/lootsite.dll?Search&Query=leica&Clip=248795801&Session=136598 4128>Hassalblad 503CXi + 80CF lens + A12 back & Clo Winder, brand new, boxed, offers over ?2,200. London - 4 days old - -----Original Message----- From: Dr Jonathan Slade [SMTP:jonnyslade@mcmail.com] I am in the process of setting up a B/W darkroom after many years of using commercial labs. A Leica Guru once wrote that to get the best out of your Leica use a Leica Focomat enlarger- I have just spotted one in a local photo shop which looks in good shape. The model is Focomat 1c and includes a lens (f4.5 I think as I haven't been in and looked in detail) and is priced at ?249.00. I wish to make enlargements up 16" by 12", 35mm only. Is the above a sensible way forward, or would it be better to buy a new, modern, enlarger?(all else being equal, of course) Many thanks in anticipation of your advice. Jonathan. - ------ =_NextPart_000_01BF0A69.68A438E0--
