This is probably the simplest response to this diatribe of the past week. I've stayed out of it for a couple of reasons: Unfortunately I've joined the fray to relieve myself! 1: Too busy to get into it and deleting 99% of what has been coming across the screen! 2: Stephen Gandy is a straight shooter and longtime Leica LUG member, with one of the most informative web sites in this whole newfangled communication network. To rip him apart and "verbally thrashed in a most uncalled for despicable manner" for simply stating something as an unknown error believed by himself. This verbal bombastic abuse has got to stop! PERIOD! My goodness we are educated, varying degrees of Leica experienced family, although of late I see this family falling apart. In general we are not a dung heap of illiterate morons, (although a new comer must wonder what the heck he or she has got themselves into) We are supposed to be learned Leica passionate rational human beings. Seeking and receiving Leica information. Sure I've been into a few verbal jousts, but I don't believe any fell to the gutter as this Gandy affair. Purer nonsense, so far off good manners and debate etiquette it's unfit for this Group. I realise we get __way off track__ at times with single malt scotch, Tilly hats, cars and guns, but that's different. Simply because there is generally a jocular attitude. But we don't brutalise a member for an error he stated which he believed to be true. Come on people lighten up for heavens sake, take some snake oil rub it on your neuron over sensitive nerve endings, take a deep breathe and come back to earth. We are only here a short time, unfortunately some shorter than others. This isn't a fighting forum, this is the Leica Users Group, so please lets get back to civility with fun and Leica knowledge. I've said my piece take it or leave it. Thank you. Now go take pictures and get back to being photographers and collectors! ted Ted Grant This is Our Work.
