Secured a 3 cam 135 Elmarit-R
for $301!! Don't know serial #, but I'm curious as to anyone's reflections
upon this lens. Would be using it for headshots. I know I should just check
the archives.... BTW, does this have the pathetic built in lens hood? or
can one get a REAL lens hood?

Bob,

As far as I know there were 2 optical formulas. The earlier one has a
concave rear element, and the later one is convex. The lens hood is built
in either way. Performance?? I dunno. I'm still evaluating mine
(concave). After fixing a loose element (thanks Sherry) there are no
obvious bad spots, a little evidence of flare if the sun's shining on the
front element but the chromes are in character with other R-lenses.
