The 35mm Leica lenses, for example, are designed for speed and quality to cover a 44mm image circle, while the 35mm/4.5 Apo-Frandagon is designed to cover a 128mm image circle with excellent quality, but not much speed. Cos^4 has nothing to do with it at this stage. I don't know of any front of lens attachments that actually produce 180 degree images. All I've tried and used came in at around 140 to 160 degrees. If you know of one that actually has 180 degree coverage, I would be very interested. * Henning J.
