Mark,

Not at all an unreasonable demand! I had a similar problem with my M3 and the new
135 Apo Telyt. The focus appeared off with the Apo Telyt but spot on with my old
135mm Hektor. I initially blamed the new lens but when I tested it on my M6 and
M6HM, everything was fine. I did have the M3 checked and adjusted, but since then
I am always a bit apprehensive when using the Apo Telyt on the M3. Looking at the
Apo Telyt and the Hektor, I find that the focusing cams look different; perhaps
the Apo Telyt is not 100% reliably compatible with my M3, I do not know. So, while
I have not dedicated specific bodies to specific lenses, I do tend to use the M3
with the Noctilux and fast film. Most of these pictures are shot at f1-f1.4 and
any out-of-focus shots are operator error.
