I had no idea that this was the case until I just bought one = and was disappointed to find it out. I have an 'brand x" 500 mm reflex = that I have used for several years which focusses to 2.5 metres and = provides some "macro" coverage. I can't see spending several hundred = dollars more for less range of focus. I'm sending it back!
