I thought I'd respond to you anyway. YES, or rather OUI!!! By all means see the Loire Valley if you can on your trip to Europe. The other truly glorious area is Provence, particularly the area north of Avignon & Aix-en-Provence up to and including Vaison la Romaine. The very best times to visit are NOT July & August; it is too filled with tourists (particularly American), and the French are quite lovely and welcoming in May/June or Sept/October. If you can't do it this time, plan soon to do so as you will enjoy some of the most splendid places on earth... topography, food, wine, history, people. BUT, for heaven's sake... learn even a little French if you don't know any and take a pocket dictionary/phrase book. If you TRY to speak a little (i.e. "hello, good-bye, please, thank-you, can you help me, do you speak English") the French will be most appreciative and always try to help you. I hope you enjoy your trip. Walter Peterson Philadelphia, PA
