I don't know where you'll be in Europe but here every French people wish to
visit la Vallee de la Loire at least once in their life. There are places
beyond your imagination. Just try to avoid July and August as it seems all
Europe goes there at the same time. Early June or late September is much
better (French children are back to school). I would go by car because most
castles are in small towns far from main railway stations and I'm not sure
that boats can navigate one the Loire all along.
