Well, I bought the M6 along with 3 lenses on Saturday at Hunt's photo
here in the Boston area. I then exchanged the inaccurate M6 for another
(I exercised the shutter quite a bit. whether you have film in it or
not should make no difference to for breaking in the shutter.) Because
Hunt's Photo only gives you 24 hours to return for full refund (versus
store credit) I returned the camera today and they lost $8000 in sales.
I decided I didn't want to be one of the ones to sell a little used
camera for 60%... There was not enough time with the camera to know if
I could really switch to Leica. Maybe some future day I will give it
another try. My decision was more than just the shutter, rather the
feeling of getting stuck with a system I was not that sure about. I'll
miss the glass though...
