I originally went in looking for a Schneider 6x ASPH, and compared the two. The Schneider is quite good, but the Leica was visibly better and had some unique features: - - There is a black hood that slides around the sides of the loupe. This helps keep stray light from interfering with your viewing when you are working in a lit room. It can be removed for looking at things like prints or contact sheets in ambient light. - - It comes with an attachment that allows you to view film strips or individual slides. This attachment has a frosted glass on one side so you can just point it at any light source and view the image. The 5x magnification is just right for me. I can see the whole slide comfortably. The new Leica Loupe is outstanding. Compare it for yourself. You have never seen a loupe as good as this, I guarantee it. P.S. At my dealer (Glazers in Seattle), the Schneider was more expensive than the Leica! - --Jim Laurel > -----Original Message----- > From: Windows/admin/mji On Behalf Of Michael J.
