Subject: [Leica] Situations that beg for a UV protection filter

There are situations where a protection filter might be warranted:

While photographing in a sand storm that is stripping your car of paint.

While photographing a mobile home park in the midst of a tornado,
hurricane, or cyclone.

Standing and photographing under the giant ladle, in a steel mill, when it
starts pouring. You need a UV filter over your head as well.

You are photographing the clear cutting of a forest through a 19mm lens,
and you think that the tree falling your way is really far far away. Oh
Damn! I forgot, the 19mm doesn't have filter threads... what is a
photographer to do? I know... you could use X-ray film and photograph
through the lens cap... ;-)
