Maria,
The 2x doesn't protude in the slightest, and will 'marry' beautifully with
your 180/3.4.
I don't believe there was any different filter size besides E60. The only
variation of this objective was for an earlier (1970's) special US Navy
version -- the Elcan 180/3.4 (see Eastland, the Leica R Compendium, p64 ).
There is no mention of filter size.
