I also have the 100/2.8 APO and the APO 2x extender. There is a visible
difference between slides taken with the 100/2.8 alone and slides taken
with the 100/2.8 plus 2x extender. If I can see the degradation with a
loupe, a test that rates them as equal is very suspect.
