I think it is well-known that the 40 summicron and the 40 rokkor are of the
same design, the rokkor being manufactured by Minolta to Leica's specs.  I
had a 40 Rokkor before, on a CLE, before I had any Leica.  It performed very
well.  What I don't like about the Summicron is the Series 5 filters.  With
the Rokkor, which uses 40.5mm filters, and a step-up ring, I can use my 46mm
filters.
