I believe this is due to the use of incorrectly trimmed leaders on the old screw mount cameras. The desired preference is for a long leader as offered in the early days or acquired through trimming in accordance with the Leitz film trimmer (v. expensive s/h!). If the modern shorter leaders are inserted in the cameras there is a danger that the film does not travel squarely across the film but at a slight diagonal. The way to resolve this has been discussed on the LUG a few times, one can properly trim the leaders or adjust the film through the camera and shutter once loaded. best regards, Jem ==================================== csocolow wrote: > On a slightly related note...
