Subject: [Leica] lens distance scale misalignment problems

I have a lens on which the distance scale does not properly tally with the
actual focused distance. I am assuming that this isn't a problem as long as
the focus cam on the lens is in the correct relationship with the glass in
the barrel.

Does anybody have experience with this problem? I don't want to send the
lens away for an overhaul unless absolutely necessary.
