Hi All,

Just had news from LUGNUT, Tim Atherton, in Central America and he asked me
to forward this news about his busted M6.

Greg Locke.

>Hi Greg,
>
>Well, as you & I guessed, no luck with Leitz Kindermann. They
>basically have NO professional support - no loaners etc - find it
>hard to understand.
>
>Maybe you could forward this to the LUG for me;
>
>Subject: Jammed M6 - thanks LUG; leica no help...
>
>Thanks for all the support from the LUG re my jammed M6. Looks like I
>will have to send it to Sherry on my return.
>
>So now it's down to my Nikons, which so far (touch wood) have
>performed without fail!)
>
>I contacted Leitz Kindermann to see if they could help, but they have
>NO professional support, no loaners etc at all. Looks like another
>example of leicas flawed marketing strategy. Forget about
>professional users. The dentists who are the focus of the marketing
>efforts don't use their leicas enough to have mechanical problems
>(apart from those that are there straight out of the box, jammed
>frame counters, misaligned rangefinders, loose lens elements etc!).
>Apologies to all lugger dentists!
>
>As you can guess, I am a little pissed off. The M6 is perfect for the
>work I am doing, but leica doesn't seem to recognise the needs of
>professionals who use their cameras. Now, any news on that Konica M
>mount...
>
>I guess I'll just have to make enough to buy three M bodies so I am
>covered as they gradually pack up!
>
>Thanks again guys.

>From sunny Honduras
