Subject: [Leica] Leica 280mm f2.8 not 2.8

I just got the leica 280mm f2.8 from Jim Keuhl today. Jim has to be one of the
nicest persons I've ever done business with and his service is nothing short of
terrific. He's been my first and usually only stop with Leica equipment
purchases.

Anyway, the lens is quoted as a f2.8, but it only opens to f3.4 . What gives?
Also the focus seems to have a cam much like the Canon FD 300mmf2.8 .

BTW, much thanks to the comments made by members of this group about the 280mm
f2.8. I just put 2 rolls through my R8 with the 280 and I'll have to wait 'till
I process tomorrow night to see the neg's.

Thanks,
Dave
