Subject: [Leica] 40mm 2.8 Focotar

Does anybody know if the 40mm 2.8 Focotar enlarging lens was redesigned
during it's lifetime because the "first version" was not sharp? Someone
had mentioned this to me. I've never heard of it. All the documentation
I have doesn't really support it. Although, there's not much written
about Leitz enlarging lenses. Laney or Lager don't document it.

Thanks.
