The skinny Tele-Elmarit, though, was a winner > of a lens, light and fast and easy in use, with sound optical performance. I had a 2.8 Tele-Elmarit 4 element, bought new in 1974, (stolen in 1990, & good riddance!) and it was the worst lens I've ever owned. I had sent it back to Leica 2 times to rid of flare. Something to do with the internal baffle. They couldn't get rid of the flare. I never used it. The newer 2.8 (new for me in 1991) is excellent. Louis DiBacco
