Editorial markets are those which inform or educate - textbooks, magazines,
illustrations, etc. They are not advertising or commercial use. From Rohn
Engh's "Sell and Resell Your Photographs," you will also need a model
release in the editorial market if your photograph is of a sensitive
subject such as mental illness, crime, family or personal strife, chemical
dependency, metal retardation, medicine, religion, and sex education. You
can find out more at his website: http://www.photosource.com/
Hope this helps -
