Subject: Re: [Leica] Definition of a Professional

Dear Bob,
I could care less about deciding who is professional. But, I would like to
note that anyone who takes their work seriously is putting their "reputation
on the line" whenever they show their work to another person, or even more,
a group. In the end, what you produce is what you are, photographically.
There are people earning thier living out of photography who do not work at
a particularly high standard, and who have, and seek little understanding of
the philosophy and history that underlie their work.
Sincerely,
Joe Stephenson

Harrison, this is one of the points that I am trying to get from the
professionals and you have said it very clearly. Your reputation as a
professional is on the line after each assignment. You can take on
assignments like the one you describe and deliver to your client. You are a
TRUE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. Is the photographer that does weddings
every
weekend and earns over 50% of his income from photography a professional
photographer? Yes, he is. Could he accomplish the assignment that you
just
completed? Probably not!
