Hi, Lucien,
My first M3, purchased in l976 or so, was a DS, no preview,
small rewind shaft, spring clutch, screws-in-top-cover model,
l954, SN 700,xxx (don't remember whole #).

Near mint, with 50 f2 Summicron, was traded in on an AE-1 at
Southside camera in Houston. They gave $100 for it....I offered
to buy it for $150, no warranty, and they of course took it.

Bought my second M-3, DS, 70xxxx (again, don't remember) for
$100....because it didn't have a real Leica lens....had
one of those "nasty" Canon, Black, 35 1.5 RF lenses on it...!!!
Luckily, it also had that nasty old 35 bright-line (LEITZ)
finder on it....unhandy, but still they took my $100.

I "swore off" M3s in about l990....Sold my EXC ++ late (1million)
SS with the most gorgeous finder (condition) I've ever seen on
an M3....got an UNPRECEDENTED $850 for it....the damn fool :)

Sure would be handy with that 90 f2 I bought...... :)
