Thank you whoever it was who told us that Kyocera produce a 55mm "soft
focus" filter. I followed up when in Tokyo last week and found they market
Zeiss Softar I,II and III in 55mm and some other sizes under the Contax
label. Wonderful filters - I have used them for years on a Hasselblad for
female portraits and pastel landscapes - they somehow maintain sharpness
while diffusing highlights and the effect does not diminish at smaller
apertures. 55mm now sits happily alongside my Summicron 90.
