Francois,

I have only had a couple of people refuse, saying that they didn't like to
have
their picture made. This used to bother me, but now I just smile and say I
don't really like to have my picture made either. Nobody goes away with=
 hurt
feelings. Most people are flattered that you want to take their picture.=20
Sometimes they want me to take a posed picture to send to them and I always=
 do
if they sign the release. I don't know whether they lose the business card=
 or
just forget, but I get very few requests for prints later so that is not a=
 big
expense.(Leave the initiative to write and request photos up to them or you
will be sending out a lot of unnecessary photos!) The ASMP handbook and most
books on stock photography print a sample release. There is a book by Susan
McCarthy on Travel Photography that prints the release in about 30 different
languages. I prefer to use a very simple release without a lot of=
 legalese.=20
Mine says:
MODEL RELEASE
Date____________                          =20
 For valuable consideration, I hereby irrevocably consent to and authorize=
 the
use and reproduction by you, or anyone authorized by you, of any and all
photographs which you have this day taken of me for any purpose whatsoever,
without further compensation to me. All negatives and positives, together
with
the prints shall constitute your property, solely and completely.
