Steven - are you using the latest Lasersoft Silverfast software, which is a
vast improvement on the Nikon stuff, and now comes bundled with the latest
models? It's very good even for tyros like me - I've ordered it for my
Microtek flatbed as well.

BTW, I'm achieving good results on my Coolscan II LS-20 which het near to
doing justic to Leica negs (to keep on topic...)
