It is almost certain that the coating composition was changed from time to time, as is the rule with virtually all lenses -- almost every manufacturer varies this with some frequency. But all that a change in coatings would cause is a change in the colour transmission of the lens: it would have no effect whatsoever on the sharpness, contrast, or other optical parameters of the lens.
