Man, I have run into this so many time I see red hearing about it.  How damn 
hard is it for the village idiot (designer here) to "build" a new color using 
Pantone!!!  Why not use the best photo then build your stinking colors from the 
damn photo!!!!

Another one I run into alot is word smiths who refuse to reword something and 
want a different photo because it doesn't "fit" the headline.  The photo works 
with the story as a whole, but not the 3 or 4 words the "writer" chose for his 
head.  Hell he is sitting at a damn computer not out in the trenches getting 
sweaty cussed at and sometimes shot at. HE can REWORD his frigging 
headline IMHO.

Sorry I'll get off my high horse now.  This just struck a raw nerve with me as 
there are WAY too many village idiots out there who look at photos in this 
manner.

On a different note is Joe Gentry still at the Orange County Register? I started 
on staff with the Gwinnett Daily News in Atlanta right after he left and heard 
many great stories about how good he was to work with. Seeing that you work 
out that way got me to wondering what happened to him.
