Nathan,

I have bought a number of items from ebay and have never been taken.  I
have had equipment that didn't work as advertised, but alway received my
money back.  The key, I think, is to check the feedback on the seller
and only deal with those who have had numerous, positive results.

I suspect the message you received was due to complaints or other
problems with the seller and was protecting your from being ripped-off.
