You must remove all your film from its packaging and place the bare film cassettes into Ziplocs if you have any hope of getting the film hand inspected. Obviously, this means all your film travels with you in carry-on luggage. Get to the airport extra early so there is no pressure on the security people. But you may find that they still won't do a hand inspection - they will insist that ASAs under 800 will not be affected adversely. Try anyway, but don't be too surprised. Israeli security is very strict. They will insist on zapping your exposed film on the return, after they've finished interrogating you about everything from your underwear size to the subject of your dreams at night. Have a nice time. P.S. A small piece of advice: if you think you won't finish shooting all of your film over there, find some way to keep a record of the expiry dates for your now packageless film, bearing in mind that it will have spent several weeks in the heat.
