We've been here before.  If proper disposal were practiced, mercury
batteries would not pose an environmental hazard.  There's more mercury in
a fluorescent light tube than in a small camera battery, yet I doubt that
any politicians who are trying to capture enviro-votes would dare suggest
that they be banned completely.  It's a political issue, not an
environmental one.
