The R8 has about the same features as the F4s except the motor drive, the removable prism and the 100% finder but it does not have the built-in flashmeter. However, the F4s is a great performer with MF lenses and it's a hell cheaper! Bob, how come you went down to the F4 after the F5? Thib. >> The F4, in my opinion, is much more user friendly. The controls are much simpler and straight-forward and easier to remember and, there are fewer of them. I was constantly referring to the owners manual of the F5 which cost me a lot of valuable picture-taking time. I owned an F4s before the F5 and thought if I liked the F4 as much as I did I was going to love the F5. This did not happen. I thought that I could live without auto-focus and the Leica would do everything that the F5 did. This was not the case. Now I have an R8 with a 19, 24, 35-70 and an 80-200. I also have the F4s, a 24mm, 35-70-2.8 and an 80-200/2.8. I do prefer the quality of the R8 and the outcome, however I am beginning to question my sanity to have duplicate systems. If I could only have one, the Leica would have to go. I also have 2-M6's which I prefer over anything. I hope that this helped to explain the decision on the F5. Bob
