Mail order is really just like any other kind of shopping, in that you either click with the vendor or not. Some dealers (whom I've never met in person, only over the phone) have been great partners for years; others I've never been able to get satisfaction from. Other people have opposite experiences with the same dealers. The telephone and fax puts distance betwen us, but there are still real human personalities behind the technology and that will probably always remain a factor. Thank goodness, I say.
