I do not think mine was loose, but it did need adjustment, but then mine was quite old. [older meaning cheaper ;-) ] The repair man told be to support the lens and not to leave it on the camera if not in use as the weight of the lens was at the limits for the mount. Seems strange as the mount, though a little smaller than the R still seems quite a monster compared with some others (especially Contax, whose mount is said to twist quite easily).
