I think you're starting to confuse a bunch of us with your followon question:

From what I keep reading here, the 50/2 Summicron-R is THE standard for its
ilk.  

I also think you're extremely generalizing the last statement, that the
lenses are "vastly superior to Nikon's Lineup".

Excuse me, but you mention lenses that aren't in the top of the Leica game,
and one that never existed. There is no 80-200 2.8 Leica lens. How old is
the 35 2.8? And the 50 Summicron, though it's good, is hardly one of the
best, and can't compare to what's come on in the past 15 or so yeras. All
of which are vastly superior to Nikon's lineup.
