Hans: Since 1980, I have been using the third(?) version of the 28mm f2.8
Elmarit-M made in Canada. It was introduced about that time, say, in late
1979. It is a truly outstanding lens with regard to contrast and resolution
as stated by Leitz and confirmed by use . It is surpassed by only the
current fourth(?) version. I would stay away from the earlier versions.
However, the Rokkor has a very good reputation. Perhaps, Erwin may want to
comment on this issue.
