Considering the fact that Leica USA goes out of their way to punish dealers
for selling demo cameras as new (that is, with Passport) I find this rather
strange. Are you saying Leica USA plays both sides of the fence in the Gray
market? $100 Warranty sells as "demo" and New with the $300 premium?

It is no secret that Leica USA is phasing out its "passport" warranties as
they
have been greatly abused, even to the point of purposely smashing a M6 that
is
no longer pretty but still has warranty time left on it. I am certainly not a
dealer
but you only have to ask a highly respected dealer like Jim Kuehl and he will
tell you that he buys from Leica USA w/o passport and will sell you his own
personal warranty coverage for one year.

I consider both Jim and Don to be of the finest character & very much resent
your attempt to put them down. Now don't be offended & ask for a "vote of
confidence" again as you have your philosophy & ethics as do I.

I know nothing about your comment on Leica USA punishing anyone for any-
thing - but surely you are not so stupid as to say that you think it is
ethical to
sell "Demos" as new? Eric shame on you.
