Subject: 28-50 pseudo zoom??

There's been a few comments about a rumoured 28-50 pseudo-zoom
M lens.  What is meant by pseudo-zoom?  How would this be made to
work with a viewfinder with fixed framelines, or is there some implied
suggestion of a new camera with a different type of viewfinder?

(I was hoping for some new lenses to be added to the Mamiya 7 outfit
until someone pointed out to me that the camera only has framelines
for the three current lenses (excluding 43).)
