Eric, the 1:50/12 min combo is good, but the grain tends to get a bit harsh.
Have you tried that with Sodium Sulphite ( 100 grams/1000ml) and shorten the
time to 10 1/2 min. Softens the grain quite a bit, looks O.K. up to 11x14
after that it gets mushy.
