Carl,

I have the Contax SLR 35mm f/1.4, which also has aspherical elements. The 
front element has a perfectly flat front surface, which I always thought 
was pretty interesting.

Don't some of the variations of the Leica M 28mm have either flat or 
concave front surfaces?
