You are mixing your claims, in any event. LA is possibly the most smog-ridden city in the US. Does it surprise you that your 'hundreds' of Leica lenses -- or Nikon, Canon, Zeiss, Pentax, or whatever -- in LA would need cleaned? I have seen several hundred Leica lenses at various shows I've worked in the past three months. Nary a one was 'fogged'. I did not one fungus-ridden Nikon lens and a broken Zeiss optic.
