Subject: PP: "No Leica Lens Lover"

For any of you who still get Pop. Photog. ( I get it as a freeby -
wouldn't actually pay $ for it willingly) there's an insipid letter from
a reader complaining that his 1947 Summitar doesn't stack up to a Konica
lens of recent vintage proving how much hype there is to the Leica Lens
Lore (LLL for short). To their credit the magazine responded fairly by
stating that the writer's comparison was hardly Apples to Apples.

My real reason for this post is to some extent equally banal. I didn't
know if anyone else had spotted the Chrome M6 in the latest Mercedes
Commercial. They have a slew of new ads - this is the sepia tone ad
showing Mercury the Greek God running in the desert and he's eventually
caught up by a couple in a Mercedes coupe the lady of the car pulls out
an M6 to take Mercury's picture.

Finally the real question to the group - ( god when was he going to get
to his point!) If you bolt a 28 mm to the CL which frame line will it
bring up? the 40 mm or the 50? Also would the complete field of the
finder approximate a real 28 mm line or is under / over? I have a
Minolta 28 mm that I would like to use on the Lecia CL but need to know
what CL users have experienced. Now I will go peacefully
