In it it says that the body, shutter and meter are that of the M6. The controls and top are almost exactly that of the M3. The top is indeed brass, which Leica has said clearly is inferior in strength to Zn. The body is covered in leather. Whatever. All of a sudden folks are worshipping the J camera as this super M that is "more stable", more quiet", and "more fun to use". A few years ago I bought a new Porsche 911 Cabriolet. It was the finest piece of steel I had ever driven. However, it routinely got blown away by older, leaner 911s at rallys and autocross events. At that point I found other reasons to love the car than just speed. I had to, I was making $1,000.00 car payemnts and had to feel good about my purchase (enslavement). I traded it for a Ford truck in December and haven't looked back. My point - I guess I don't have one. But, I can understand the guy's desire to justify to all of us po' folks paying $8,000.00 for an M6 with an old film advance lever. <g> BTW, how's the Leica working? Are you using it or is it in the cabinet with your Contax? <g> I hope you're getting some use from it. Regards, Ben W. Holmes Boulder, CO USA bholmes@frii.com
