Using the 50 and learning its strengths and weaknesses is a good idea.  If
you have to have a 35 and are on a really tight budget consider the
Summaron.  This is a great lens as long as the f/3.5 aperture is not a
problem.  Its tack sharp at f/5.6 and not that bad wide open.
