I did this myself to my Leica M case. Here in the UK,at most
haberdashers stores, you can get a kit to rivet-fit heavy duty button
fasteners in several finishes ie chrome or brass. It makes the erc
much more useable. My M3, in the bottom half of the case, fits snugly
in the Leica M fitted case I obtained at a local collectors club meeting.

The button fasteners are available in several sizes and also useful
for refitting leather camera straps and gadget bag straps. I have
also found a local saddler who was able to restitch my Leicaflex
fitted case at very little cost.
