Stan tried to be a good guy and hired a local "professional" auctioneer. Seemed like a decent chap, but had no clue photographically! The first two hours dragged a bit with the auctioneer unable to pronounce any of the words. You would have cracked up with his pronunciation of Leica. Worse than his lack of photo knowledge (he finally stopped trying to pronounce the words; he resorted to using lot numbers only), were his frequent gaffs in losing track of what lot he was selling. I'm told by those who stayed for the afternoon, however, that it went faster and the comments were very favorable. Nice, diverse assortment of gear, and, of course, great folk with which to rub shoulders. - -- Roger Beamon, Naturalist & Photographer Docent: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Leica Historical Society Of America INTERNET: beamon@primenet.com
