I don't think most people could tell, except the Contax lenses will make "bluer" pictures. Blake Ziegler (Contax rep.) has claimed the G1 has kiled the M6 sales to a significant amount. But he has no response to the fact that Leica sells every M6 they make. How do you kill 100% sales? :-) Mechanically they aren't nearly as rugged. And I think the G1 feels like a toy. I would never own one, except to have the 16mm f/8 lens. And maybe the new 21mm 2.8 biogon.
